EPTA Text Alerts
Never be out of the loop. EPTA offers a text alert system to inform riders of route interruptions.
Our updates extend to system routes, Shepherd University Circulator and MARC Train Connectors.
Half Fare Program
EPTA offers a half-fare program for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Eligibility
The following persons are eligible for the EPTA Half-Fare Card upon successful completion of the EPTA application process:
- Senior citizens 60 and over.
- Any person who has a Medicare Card.
- Any person who has a verifiable disability.
Holders of the EPTA Half-Fare Card will receive a 50% discount on cash fare transactions system wide on all EPTA published routes during all regular operating hours. The holder must present the EPTA Half-Fare Card (which will be a photo ID card) to the bus driver to receive the discount.
**Please note: Monthly passes are not eligible for Demand Response transportation**
Application Must Be Completed
An Application for the EPTA Half Fare card may be accessed and printed from the EPTA website here. However, the application must be completed and turned into an EPTA staff member. The Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority office is located at 446 Novak Drive, Martinsburg, WV. Telephone 304-263-0876.
Verification of Identity and Taking of Photo
- All applicants must present a photo I.D. to verify identity.
- All applicants must permit EPTA to take a photograph to be used on the EPTA Half-Fare card.
Other Verifications Required
Seniors 60 and over must provide proof of age and photo ID. For individuals under 60 with a disability, please complete the application along with the medical statement form signed by a medical professional. Medicare cardholders, please provide a photo ID for proof of identity.
**Half-Fare cards cannot be used for Demand Response services**
Get a Job, Get a Ride!
What is “Get a Job, Get a Ride!”?
Through this program, all new employees of a Corporate Partner (who meet the criteria) will be eligible to receive a month’s worth of transportation to work. This program is being developed to encourage ridership and assist long term unemployed workers.

Student Discount Program
Students who are enrolled in High School, College, or Technical School who are able to show proof of enrollment are eligible to purchase our Monthly Pass at a discount of 25% off our current published Monthly Pass rate. The Student Discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other fare structure.
