Calculating your Bus Fare
EPTA bus fares are easy to understand. For most trips, fares begin at $2.00. However, there are a few special cases. Changing zones or being a half-fare card holder will alter your fare. The table below lists the zones where EPTA operates. Crossing zones adds .50 cents to the fare per zone crossed.

The maximum fare for any one-way trip is $3.50.

Fare Purchases
Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express credit cards. Passengers may call our office at 304-263-0876 to purchase passes with a credit card, or use Token Transit for mobile ticketing purchases. Passengers may also pay for passes with cash or by check to an EPTA staff member.
Off-Routes
Off-Route pickups are scheduled pickups up to 3/4 of a mile off the published route.
If you need to set up an Off-Route pickup, call our Dispatch Office at 304-263-0876 (Option 1) the day before your trip by 4:30pm to be properly scheduled. EPTA will schedule your pickup based on the published route timing. There will be an additional charge of $2.00 for each Off-Route.
NOTE: Off-Route charges are
not covered
by Monthly Passes or $5 All Day Passes, or eligible for Half-Fare, with charges to be paid at time of ride.
Pass Options
Monthly Pass
If you ride frequently, this pass could be the best option for you! With the purchase of a monthly pass, you receive one month of unlimited riding. Passes purchased through our office are valid from the first of the month through the last calendar day of the respective month. (Example: March 1-31).
Monthly passes purchased through Token Transit are valid from the day they are purchased until the same day in the following month. (Example: March 16- April 16).
Passengers who possess a Half-Fare Card are eligible for a monthly pass at a 50% discount. Monthly passes are not eligible for Demand Response transportation.
Students also earn 25% off when purchasing a monthly pass.

$10 Fare Cards
These colored punch cards allow you ten dollars worth of rides, or about five trips if you're traveling around town. These can be purchased from EPTA Drivers or from the EPTA office.
$5 All Day Passes
For just $5, you can obtain this pass to ride all of EPTA routes, all day long! EPTA riders can obtain this pass only by purchasing from an EPTA bus driver. Passengers will pay $5 into the fair box, or they will present a prepaid voucher designated for a $5 One Day Pass. You will only be allowed to purchase the $5 One Day Pass with this voucher. (To purchase one or more $5 One Day Pass vouchers, please call our Dispatch office.)
- Pass expires at the close of business on the day purchased.
- Cannot be used in conjunction with Half-Fare cards.
- No Off Routes or Demand Response services will be covered under the $5 One Day Pass.
- Pass is non-transferable to other riders.
