Demand Response
What is Demand Response?
EPTA offers Demand Response service from 8:00am to 5:00pm (Monday - Friday) in select areas of Berkeley and Jefferson counties.
Demand Response rides are reserved exclusively for passengers who are unable to access our traditional bus routes. Demand Response scheduling must be completed prior to or no later than the business day before a desired trip. EPTA Dispatch will stop scheduling rides for the next business day at 5:00pm. All requests must be made before that time. Riders should be ready at least ten (10) minutes before their scheduled pick-up time.
Demand Response trips that need to be scheduled over the weekend for the next business day, please call and leave a detailed message no later than 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Message should include your name, phone number, pick-up location, destination, and time of appointment. An EPTA Dispatcher will confirm your appointment on the next business day by return call.
EPTA drivers cannot offer assistance to and from your pick-up and drop off locations. If the passenger requires assistance, we ask that you bring an aide who can assist you. Aides accompanying a passenger are allowed to ride free on all EPTA vehicles, to include Demand Response.
Call EPTA Dispatch for Demand Response service and pricing. Fares for Demand Response service must be paid prior to the scheduled trip, or riders must have the exact fare amount at time of trip.
Half-Fare cards, Day passes or Month bus passes, along with any other discount programs offered, cannot be utilized for any Demand Response services/rides.
