EPTA offers a half-fare program for seniors and people with disabilities.
The following persons are eligible for the EPTA Half-Fare Card upon successful completion of the EPTA application process:
- Senior citizens 60 and over.
- Any person who has a Medicare Card.
- Any person who has a verifiable disability.
Holders of the EPTA Half-Fare Card will receive a 50% discount on cash fare transactions system wide on all EPTA routes during all regular operating hours. The holder must present the EPTA Half-Fare Card (which will be a photo ID card) to the bus driver to receive the discount.
Application Must Be Completed in Person
An Application for the EPTA Half Fare card may be accessed and printed from the EPTA website here. However, the application must be completed in person. The Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority office is located at 446 Novak Drive, Martinsburg, WV. Telephone 304-263-0876.
Verification of Identity and Taking of Photo
- All applicants must present a photo I.D. to verify identity.
- All applicants must permit EPTA to take a photograph to be used on the EPTA Half-Fare card.
Other Verifications Required
Seniors 60 and over must also present age verification (if not on photo I.D. used to verify identity) and may choose to use a Medicare Card for that purpose. Other options for age verification include a Driver’s License or a certified copy of the birth certificate.
